Hi, I’m Pastor Bruce.
Welcome
to His Place, where the worship is heartfelt,
the message is straightforward, and the children
are given high priority. And please, just call
me Bruce (after all, I don’t refer to you
as Plumber Bill).
At His Place we appreciate authenticity, and
treasure transparency. We’re real people, in a real
world, serving a real God. That means we aim for a balanced
mixture of lighthearted self-awareness and thoughtful God-awareness.
Have you ever felt “out of place”
when faced with outmoded musical instruments, arcane religious
jargon, and inexplicable rituals? I have, too. We’ve
replaced those would-be barriers with culturally-relevant
music, language, and traditions.
Oh, and visitors are always welcome to investigate
our beliefs, patterns, and practices, in the pursuit of truth.
So, whether you’re a spiritual seeker or a committed
Christian, you’ve come to the right place … a
fun place to get serious about God!
Please look around and get to know us …
I’ll stay here and greet our next guest. And by the
way, I’m glad you stopped by!

Co-ed golf tournament
The His Place annual co-ed golf tournament is coming next month! The tourney will take place Sunday, August 8th at Similk Beach Golf Course in Anacortes. We’ll have a shotgun start, beginning at 2:15 pm, followed by a barbecue afterwards including hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and soda. The cost is $40 per person, which includes everything. Come out for a great day of golf, food, and fellowship! Sign up at the church this Sunday, or contact Todd Harris at 840-3834 for more information.

Purchase items for RFKC kids
Our first Royal Family Kids Camp for abused and neglected children in our community (ages 7-11) is in its final preparations. You can make a significant impact by purchasing one of the following items for one of these 30 children: a personal hygiene kit, blanket fabric, a stuffed animal, or a small birthday gift. Or, help to build our supplies with a basketball, a hula hoop, sidewalk chalk, and more. Items range in price from $7 to $20.
To help provide a memorable and fun week, stop by the table in the back of the church this Sunday to select the item you would like to give. Purchases will be collected at the church for the next two Sundays.
Camp volunteers are also still needed for one or more days and evenings during the first week of August. For more information, contact Dave and Kim Rudy at rfkcskagit@ymail.com or 840-8361.
