Baptism coming September 18th

If you’re ready to be baptized, we’ve got a baptism coming up on Sunday, September 18th! You can pick up a packet from Buddy at the information desk in the lobby this Sunday. Participants must return the Baptism Interest Response form to the church office by Sunday, September 4th. Then, attend the baptism class at 10:30 am on Sunday, September 18th at the front of the sanctuary. Baptism will be held that Sunday in the pool next to the Ark, following 2nd service.

Certified lifeguard needed to finish out the summer

Beginning Tuesday, August 16th the pool will be closed during the week for the remainder of the season, unless a certified lifeguard can be found to fill in. If you are a certified lifeguard, please see Gabe White at the table in the back this Sunday or call (360) 630-8456 or e-mail If a fill-in lifeguard is not found, the new pool hours will be Saturdays and Sundays only, from 12:30 to 5:30 pm beginning August 20th through September 25th.

Crew shortage in the Ark

We have a shortage! In the last few months, we have had to repeatedly close Ark clubrooms due to a lack of volunteers. We urgently need your help; please consider if you could volunteer 1.5 hours of your time weekly or even every other week.

You have the opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life by helping or teaching in a clubroom Sunday mornings or at Studio A on Wednesday nights. Sunday morning clubrooms meet during the 9:00 or 11:00 am service in the Ark. Studio A is for 3rd through 5th graders, and leaders get together Wednesday nights from 5:45 to 8:15 to play fun games, listen to a message, and worship together.

We prepare the entire curriculum beforehand, and provide subs when you need a day off. It doesn’t get any easier, or more rewarding, than this! Interested? Visit the table in the back of the sanctuary this Sunday!

Prime Time salmon barbecue

Prime Time has talked Pastor Nick and his team into bringing their famous barbecued salmon to the annual picnic again this year. Prime Time is a fellowship group for those over age 55. The barbecue is scheduled for Saturday, August 13th at Riverfront Park in Sedro-Woolley at 12:00 noon. Come and meet some new friends!

Church pool open Tuesday through Saturday

The church pool is now open to all His Place attenders and their guests from 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm every Tuesday through Saturday. Concessions (towels, snacks, and drinks) are also available for purchase, which fund pool operation expenses. Children age 17 and under are required to be accompanied by an adult.

Pray for One Another

We are a church that prays for one another! To help with this, a “Pray for One Another” handout is provided each Sunday to report about health situations in our church family. They are now available online too! Click here to view and/or download this week's and previous weeks' handouts.

Hi, I’m Pastor Bruce.

Welcome to His Place, where the worship is heartfelt, the message is straightforward, and the children are given high priority. And please, just call me Bruce (after all, I don’t refer to you as Plumber Bill).

At His Place we appreciate authenticity, and treasure transparency. We’re real people, in a real world, serving a real God. That means we aim for a balanced mixture of lighthearted self-awareness and thoughtful God-awareness.

Have you ever felt “out of place” when faced with outmoded musical instruments, arcane religious jargon, and inexplicable rituals? I have, too. We’ve replaced those would-be barriers with culturally-relevant music, language, and traditions.

Oh, and visitors are always welcome to investigate our beliefs, patterns, and practices, in the pursuit of truth. So, whether you’re a spiritual seeker or a committed Christian, you’ve come to the right place … a fun place to get serious about God!

Please look around and get to know us … I’ll stay here and greet our next guest. And by the way, I’m glad you stopped by!
