Why did Jesus choose “a devil” to be a disciple (John 6:70)? He didn’t love to receive love, but to shine a light on love.
The way we use the New Testament without putting in the OT is a chronic problem, because the NT without the OT is just a wannabe.
Jesus isn’t just bread, He’s like restaurant bread! The kind that, when you start eating it, makes you sorry you ordered anything else!
Whatever trial, hurdle, test, or disaster you’re facing; the truest, deepest, answer lies in knowing God’s Word for yourself.
Faith is all about taking that first step, building confidence, and keeping your eyes on Jesus. The critical factor in faith isn’t its size, but its object.
Interestingly, the only example given of Solomon’s wisdom is the story of dividing a child between the two prostitutes. In First Kings, Israel prostitutes itself to false idols, and God seems to be making the same judgment.
In Second Samuel, we see King David go from the golden age of righteousness when Israel was invincible, to the dark ages of unrighteousness, when he was conquered by sin.
First Samuel gives us the historical and riveting stories of Israel’s last judge and first king.
