Ephesians 2:12 reminds us Gentiles that our forefathers were, at one time, separated from God. It also reminds us how blessed we are to live in a time when Christ has already died for our sin on the cross.
We need a plan, to be on the path to perfection, and it includes finding the start, finding the finish, drawing a line, and walking the line.
Everything down here has an expiration date. And that’s why Jesus looks up to heaven and sighs: for both our physical and our spiritual condition.
To get Jesus’ attention, we often cry out in a way we think He wants to hear. We use the right words, but they’re empty words … until we’re housebroken!
When God opened the disciples’ understanding, they realized that Jesus had been destined for the cross, and had to shed that divine blood, for the forgiveness of sin.
We’re empowered to re-gift forgiveness only if and when we see it as gratitude for the greatest gracious gift ever bestowed on us.
Anyone can spot a flaw; no special talent is required. But, confronting and dealing with sin in a merciful, loving, humble, understanding way, now that’s a gift!
Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection have redeemed us. And our redemption comes simply from our faith that Christ has done this, plus nothing!
Give and get. Give and get. It’s what we do with our lives. And the Bible points out the Golden purpose – to give as good as you get.
